This is no surprise, but Luna had a little tongue tie and lip tie when she was born which affects her nursing ability because her seal isn’t as tight and natural as it ideally should be. (It’s no surprise because this is hereditary and both sisters also dealt with either lip tie or tongue tie.)
Doctors decide what should be done depending on the severity of the tie. Since Luna’s tongue tie was not severe, she didn’t HAVE to get that snipped, but her lip tie did need a good snipping to make the breastfeeding relationship with mom much better. So 24 hours after she was born, the nurses came to attend while Dr. Kim gave the tissue under her upper lip a little snip. She fed a lot afterwards and now is in a deep slumber.
